Disney+ Drops Official ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Trailer and New Images

The streamer marks ‘Star Wars Day’ by more teasing of the highly anticipated series that begins 10 years after the saga of ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith;’ mark your calendar for the May 27 premiere.

Star Wars Day, the informal annual nod to the epic Star Wars franchise and its creator George Lucas, is underway and to mark the occasion Disney+ has shared a new trailer and key art for its highly anticipated limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Debuting Friday, May 27 (previously announced release date was May 25) with the first two episodes, new episodes will follow weekly every Wednesday, leading up to the series finale on June 22.

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The stage is set for the continuing saga. The hunt is on for the Jedi master... check out the trailer - it will leave you counting the days to the series premiere:

Starring Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi, the show marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram; Joel Edgerton; Bonnie Piesse; Kumail Nanjiani; Indira Varma; Rupert Friend; O’Shea Jackson Jr.; Sung Kang; Simone Kessell; and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Chow, McGregor, and Joby Harold. The series is produced by Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Pictures.

VFX for the show are produced by Image Engine and Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), with animation by ILM.
