Indira Varma Joins ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series in Mystery Role

While whom the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress will play remains unknown, speculation points to Kenobi’s lover Satine Kryze, or ‘Clone Wars’ villain Asajj Ventress.

Despite the recent and unfortunate drama involving Gina Carano and fan favorite Disney+ series The Mandalorian, there is now a happy distraction for fans of the Star Wars franchise. The upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series has added a very exciting name to its all-star cast list: Indira Varma of Game of Thrones, Rome, and Carnival Row fame. While striking actors’ role remains unknown, she is no stranger to strong, independent, and intelligent characters.

With no proof either way, it is possible Varma will portray an already established character, or even a new character altogether; there is some speculation the actress could play Satine Kryze, Kenobi’s love interest, or Asajj Ventress, a villain seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The highly anticipated series, which will also star Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, takes place ten years after Revenge of the Sith, when Kenobi settles in Tatooine as a mysterious hermit. Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to begin production in April, with no official release date.
