DECODE signs U.K. Licensing, DVD Partners for Grandpa in My Pocket

Target Entertainment Sells Fluffy Gardens to GMTV/CiTV

London: Target Entertainment Group, the international production and rights management company, has sold series one and two of the pre-school animation series FLUFFY GARDENS to GMTV/CiTV in the UK.

The broadcaster will air the series within its Fluffy Club block, which broadcasts at weekends on GMTV 6am to 7.25am. The Fluffy Club also broadcasts on The CiTV Channel and ITV4 during term time weekdays from 8.40am to 9.25am.

ABC Adds Some Gravity to Summertime Viewing

ABC has picked up 13 episodes of Fox TV Studios' adventure drama GRAVITY, starring Ron Livingston, per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

The internationally-produced series takes place in the near future and is about eight astronauts from five countries who go on a mysterious six-year mission through the solar system.

Sci Fi Brings Alien Cops Remake to the Air

Sci Fi is in development on a TV adaptation of 1988 feature ALIEN NATION, per VARIETY. The property was also previously a series on FOX.

Tim Minear (ANGEL, THE X-FILES, FIREFLY) will write the pilot, a fresh take on the franchise about a veteran cop and his alien detective partner. The series also focuses on alien newcomers who move to Earth and assimilate into society.

Proof Adaptation Coming to TV, Not Film

Mania.com reports that the animated adaptation of comicbook PROOF will be set up as an animated series, not a feature film.

Kickstart Ent. are working to set the project up at Sony Television. FUTURAMA writer Evan Gore is penning the pilot. Samuel L. Jackson is attached to the project as well.

The animation style will emulate the look of co-creator Riley Rossmo's artwork.

Keyframe Digital Creates VFX Inventory for Sci Fi Channel's Warehouse 13

Wyle to Headline Spielberg's New Alien Invasion Series

Noah Wyle (TV's ER) has been cast in the lead role in the pilot for a new TNT series from DreamWorks Television and Steven Spielberg. Wyle will play the leader of a rag-tag group of soldiers and civilians as they struggle against an occupying alien force.

The untitled project will be exec produced by Spielberg, along with DreamWorks Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank and screenwriter Robert Rodat. Rodat, who earned an Oscar nomination for his screenplay for SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, is writing the script for the pilot from an idea he co-conceived with Spielberg.

Former DEAL OR NO DEAL model Meghan Markle will join the cast of FRINGE, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The small screen beauty will play a cocky junior FBI agent. J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci produce the series for Warner Bros. TV. Anna Torv stars as Olivia Dunham, an FBI agent assigned to a special unit that investigates paranormal events. Co-stars include John Noble as the quirky doctor Walter Bishop and Joshua Jackson plays Walter's brilliant son Peter.

FlashForward Shown to Critics, MacFarlane to Have Recurring Role

Matthew Belloni of THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER was one of a few TV critics to screen ABC's upcoming fall drama FLASHFORWARD this week, and one new tidbit that emerged is that FAMILY GUY creator Seth MacFarlane has a recurring role as an FBI agent.

Exec producers David Goyer said MacFarlane asked if there was a part for him on the show, so they cast him as an FBI agent who will likely recur in future episodes. "Seth called me up. He said 'I f****** love this script,'" Goyer said.

Smallville Adds Brian Austin Green to Cast

TVGUIDE has the scoop that Brian Austin Green (TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES) has been cast as DC Comics villain Metallo on the CW's SMALLVILLE.

Green will appear in at least the first two episodes of season nine, which begins Friday, September 25.

Metallo is a Kryptonite-powered villain whose alter ego is DAILY PLANET journalist John Corben.
