Venice, California (May 26, 2009) -- International visual effects company Pixomondo has opened a new flagship studio in Los Angeles, California. Extending its global reach, Pixomondo now has a worldwide network of studios located in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart, as well as London and Shanghai, from which it produces feature film, television and commercial visual effects.
Family action comedy NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN got the top space at the Memorial Day box office (ending May 25) with $70.05 million. The Fox film, led by Ben Stiller, has vfx from CafeFX, Dac Studios, Giant Studios, Image Engine Design and Pixel Playground.
Also opening this weekend was TERMINATOR SALVATION (Warner Bros., vfx from ILM, Matte World Digital, Pixel Liberation Front, Proof, Rising Sun Pictures and Stan Winston Studio), which placed second with $51.9M.

Academy Award nominee Les Ekker has joined Zoic Studios as Creative Director of the commercial division. This position includes directing, on and off set visual effects supervision, visual effects design and mentoring.
