WIA, TAG Present Sexual Harassment Panel Dec. 6

Free event for members will cover rights, responsibilities and how to create safer workplaces in the animation industry.

Women in Animation and The Animation Guild, Local 839, are hosting Dec. 6 a free panel for their members on sexual harassment.

The panel will cover defining sexual harassment, explaining people’s rights and responsibilities, and how to create safer work environments for the animation industry.

The panel will include:

  • Jason Oliver, attorney specializing in sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation cases.
  • Dr. Anthony E. Reading, clinical psychologist, professor of psychiatry at UCLA and expert in civil litigation in the employment arena.
  • Tammy Cho, co-founder of BetterBrave, a nonprofit that provides resources and tools to combat harassment, discrimination and retaliation in the workplace.
  • Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw, moderator, co-founder of AAPF and professor of law at UCLA and Columbia Law School.

The panel will be held at IATSE Local 80, 2520 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA 91505. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the panel at 7 p.m. and a mixer following.

To attend the event, members must register online in advance. Only members with a registration confirmation email and photo ID will be admitted, and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis.
