Chance Perdomo Will Not be Replaced in ‘Gen V’ Season 2

Production will resume this month on ‘The Boys’ spinoff after the actor was killed in a March motorcycle accident – producers promise to ‘honor Chance and his legacy’ in the coming season.

After a production postponement was announced in April due to the passing of star Chance Perdomo, Gen V Season 2 will begin production this month. In respect for the already beloved character, Perdomo’s Andre Anderson will not be recast in the upcoming season. The late actor was killed in a March motorcycle accident. He was only 27.

In a joint X statement released on Sunday, the Gen V producers confirmed the role will not be recast because “no one can replace Chance.”

“Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May,” the statement continued. “We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.”

Gen V, a live action spinoff of the Prime Video series The Boys, expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero college where students train to be the next generation of heroes. When the group of young supes discover that something bigger and sinister is going on at school, they're put to the test: will they be the heroes or the villains?

VFX vendors on the first season include DNEG, Ingenuity Studios, Luma Pictures, Pixomondo, ReDefine, and Rocket Science VFX.

While fans of the series have a long wait to see how Perdomo will be honored, The Boys Season 4 premieres June 13.
