AWNtv Presents All 16 FJORG! Shorts!

Unrated Day Watch to Explode from Fox on DVD

DAY WATCH, the even more successful Russian sequel to NIGHT WATCH, debuts Oct. 30 on DVD in an unrated version (Fox Home Ent., $27.98). Set in a world where an age-old truce between the conflicted dark ones and light ones hangs in the balance among the unsuspecting humans, the action-packed fantasy thriller is once again directed by Timur Bekmambetov, based on the best-selling novels by Sergei Luyanenko.

Night Watch Creeps on DVD

The first in the blockbuster vampire trilogy from Russia, NIGHT WATCH, bows on DVD (Fox Home Ent., $27.98) June 20, 2006. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, NIGHT WATCH is a present-day struggle in Moscow between the forces of light and darkness. Included in the two-disc set are both Russian-language and English-language widescreen versions. In fact, the subtitles are graphically inserted for creative effect.

Night Watch Director Signs with Rogue Pictures

Writer-director Timur Bekmambetov, whose NIGHT WATCH series is a sensation in Russia, has inked a one-year, first-look deal with Rogue Pictures for English-language flicks, reports VARIETY. The second film in his horror/sci-fi series, DAY WATCH, was released on New Years Day and has already become the highest grossing film in Russian history. The first film in the series, NIGHT WATCH, is set to hit theaters in the States Feb. 17, 2006, from Fox Searchlight.

Night Watch Invades U.S. on Feb. 17

With the popular Russian sci-fi thriller, NIGHT WATCH (NOCHNOI DOZOR), set to platform Feb. 17 in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco from Fox Searchlight Pictures, the second part of the trilogy, DAY WATCH, has just shattered box office records in Moscow. Fox Searchlight will release DAY WATCH theatrically later in 2006. The third part, DAWN WATCH, is currently in pre-production.

DAY WATCH premiered in Moscow on Jan. 1 with the biggest opening day gross ever at $2.1M. The three-day cume was $7.8M. DAY WATCH is now approaching a record $30M.

Mr. X Creates Effects For Default's Wasting My Time Video

Mr. X, Inc. has completed the photo-realistic visual effects, compositing and online conform for Default's first music video, "Wasting My Time." The video was directed by Noble Jones. Wasting My Time is the third collaboration for Mr. X and Director Jones, who recently completed music videos for Doyle Bramhall II and Smokestack's "Green Light Girl" and Sugar Jones' "How Much Longer." The music video starts with a young woman looking at her watch.
