Go Fish Pictures, a subsidiary of DreamWorks Pictures, has selected Anime Network as the platform for its fall television advertising campaign for the highly-anticipated animated film GHOST IN THE SHELL 2: INNOCENCE. The studio's ad commitment encompasses Anime Network's 24-hour cable channel as well as the network's video-on-demand (VOD) service and will include the airing of the full 75-second trailer for the film.

The ninth annual Japanese Animation, Film, and Art eXpo (JAFAX-pronounced JAY-fax) will be on the Allendale Campus of Grand Valley State University with the purpose of introducing the general public to Japanese culture through the use of their popular entertainment media -- namely anime (animation) and manga (comics) -- while giving current anime fans a place to find others with similar interests.
Geneon Ent. has acquired worldwide theatrical and home video rights from Micott & Basara to anime feature APPLESEED. The pact excludes Japan and South Korea. North American theatrical distribution is scheduled for late summer. Professor Ron Morse, as part of the Asian studies program, will start a new course on anime and manga at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, reports THE LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL.

Wizard World, a pop-culture expo featuring some of the biggest names and companies in comic books, toys, anime, manga, video games, film and television, is expanding to the west coast with the addition of Wizard World Los Angeles in 2004.
