Call for Entries: Animation Meets Classical Music – ITFS’s Bechstein Classic Animation Award

New festival award, honoring best use of music in animation, will be presented at upcoming 27th Stuttgart International Festival of Animation.

The new Bechstein Classic Animation Award will be presented for the first time at the 27th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS), being held May 5-10, 2020. Aimed at animation students and graduates at international institutions of higher education for film, art and the media, the award honors the best use and implementation of music in an animated short film.

Films eligible for entry under this category include animated, or combination live-action/animated films, up to 35 minutes in length which have used music downloaded from music label Bechstein Classic for one or more tracks. The five pieces of music can be used as an integral part of an animated short film or for direct visualization.

It is possible to combine the pieces of music with original compositions. The tracks are provided at no charge by licensing bound to submission of the film for the 27th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).

Closing date for film submissions is March 1, 2020.
