87th Annual Academy Awards

The Oscars reward the previous year’s greatest cinema achievements as determined by some of the world’s most accomplished motion picture artists and professionals. The Academy’s roughly 6,000 members vote for the Oscars using secret ballots, which are tabulated by the international auditing firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. The auditors maintain absolute secrecy until the moment the show’s presenters open the envelopes and reveal the winners on live television.

37th Annual Annie Awards

The Annie Awards will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at UCLA's Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, California. General Admission tickets are $25. Award Ceremony starts at 7:00 p.m.

ASIFA-Hollywood member VIP tickets are $150, and non-member VIP tickets are $250. (VIP tickets include: Champagne Reception at 5:00 p.m., Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. and Post Award Party immediately following the ceremony)

Annecy International Animation Film Festival

The International Animation Film Festival will take place in Annecy (Haute-Savoie, France) from Monday 7 to Saturday 12 June 2010.

On a parallel, the Mifa will be held from Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 June 2010.

As for the Creative Focus and the conferences, they will be held from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 June 2010.

Intervideo Talent Award

Films permitted for submission are those dealing with the theme “Tomorrow we will see,” in accordance with the description of the competition. The length of the film contributions must not exceed 10 minutes. In the case of longer films, an excerpt of up to 10 minutes may be submitted.

Nokia Mobifest Toronto 2009

Nokia Mobifest Toronto, Canada's premier made-for-mobile film festival, is now accepting submissions for its fourth annual event. Filmmakers -- from amateur to professional -- are invited to submit original films of 90 seconds or less for programming consideration. Entry is free and open to both local and International content creators, aged 18 or older. All genres are welcome and entrants may create and edit video using any equipment of their choice. Submissions will be accepted until 11:59pm EST on Monday, September 28th, 2009.

"Drawings that Move -- The Art of Joanna Quinn"

The 10th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival 2009 will once again be showcasing animated short films produced by animators of Asian ethnicities in a 90-minute all-animation program. All forms of animation (traditional, claymation, stop-motion, flash, CGI, etc) will be accepted for consideration into this competitive festival. Films by all animators pertaining to Asian issues and themes will also be considered. Only DVD formats are accepted for consideration. A Best Animated Short Film Award will be awarded with prizes to be determined.
