FUNimation News
FUNimation Entertainment officially announced the acquisition of four new titles: Tetsuwan Birdy Decode, Sekirei, Full Metal Panic!, and Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU.
Blood The Last Vampire
Unfortunately, if you’re a disciple of either the manga or anime, this movie will probably leave you in a state of blah.
NARUTO Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3
If you can’t tell by now, I like this game. It’s just fun. And, like I’ve said before about Wii games in general, it’s even better when fighting friends and family!
Dragonaut: The Resonance, Part 1
Fan service. After adding up all the tight outfits and silicone pouring out of blouses, that’s all I can say. Unfortunately, there’s not much else here.
Evangelion: 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone
Story, action, and failingly real love: Evangelion 1.01 is why we cherish anime. Between the artistry of a supposed cartoon and the drama worthy of a live action film, we find ourselves awkwardly both children and adults.
Right Stuff’s Nozomi Entertainment announces the release of Piano in early 2010
Normally it’s the CW that conspires to persuade us that our high school years are indeed the most important time of our life. But don’t leave anime out! First loves and heartbreaks are just as common.
Bandai Namco: Dragon Ball Revenge of King Piccolo and Tekken 6
The holiday season means one thing: family. Fortunately Namco Bandai has provided a great coping mechanism. No, not eggnog. With the release of Dragon Ball Revenge of Piccolo and Tekken 6, we've got fighting, fighting, and more fighting!
Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid
Mecha, mecha, and more mecha! Full Metal Panic is reminiscent of those classic mech-oriented anime that began to appear in the US after the Robotech boom in the 80’s. It’s got everything you expect: robot action, advanced technology, war-weary soldiers, and a budding romance beset with the comedy and melodrama that is high school!
Bleach The Movie 2: The Diamond Dust Rebellion
Okay, “King’s Seal” aside, which is nothing more than an unexplained ploy to drive the plot, Bleach The Movie 2 scores a big win!
Honey and Clover: Box Set 1
Nostalgic. Yes. Melodramatic. A little. Yet, admittedly, Honey and Clover reached down my throat and strummed my nostalgic, nay chick-flick, vein. Yes, I too have been overrun by the forces of Honey and Clover. I too want to know what ultimately happens to Takemoto, Mayama Morita, Hagu, and Ayumi.
Astro Boy: The Movie & Video Game
Regardless of possible complaints, this film will introduce Astro Boy to a new generation of fans. That is a good thing! And if they ultimately seek out and connect with Tezuka’s original creation, i.e. the original manga and anime, even better.
Another Day with Girls, Guns, Beasts, and Introverts: 4 Box Sets from Funimation
Although I have reviewed these anime titles in the past, the release of their box sets compels me to toss around a few words. Surely, as the heading suggests – and, again, the title of my new book –, whose day isn’t inundated with girls, guns, beasts, and even a few lacking the social skills?

Nabari: The Complete Series Part 1
The ninja is by no means new to the anime scene. All powerful, world saving high school students, for that matter, are also pervasive; though such plot-consuming, pubescent power is now so ubiquitous that it’s about as sexy as a white dress at a wedding. Be that as it may, the combination of the two in Nabari strikes a surprisingly good tune.
Magikano: The Complete Series
Admittedly, this kind of anime is either hit or miss for me. Sure they come loaded with fan service. Hey, who doesn’t like a schoolgirl skirt? And Magikano boasts “jiggling gobs of fan service.”
NARUTO Shippuden: Ninja Destiny 2 (Nintendo DS)
Whether a lover of all things Naruto, or simply a cybernetic pugilist, Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Destiny 2 will satisfy your gaming fix.
