‘Stick Man,’ ‘Shaun The Sheep: The Movie’ and ‘Children of the Holocaust’ battle for honours in Best Long Form; ‘Clangers,’ ‘Hey Duggee’ and ‘Lily’s Driftwood Bay’ nominated in Best Preschool; ‘Amazing World of Gumball,’ ‘Scream Street’ and ‘Rastamouse’ lock horns for Best Children’s Series.
Nominations in the International category include ‘Adventure Time,’ ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,’ ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ and preschool series ‘Doc McStuffins’; feature film nominations include ‘The Lego Movie,’ ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2,’ ‘Frozen’ and ‘Maleficent.’
Morwenna Banks, Peppa Pig, BBC Olympics, The Amazing World of Gumball and an ad for Talk Talk are among the winners at the tenth British Animation Awards held Friday, March 7th, at the BFI Southbank.
Special guests at the 18th annual Animac to include British animator Chris Shepherd, Czech stop-motion master Jiří Barta, the makers of The Amazing World of Gumball, musician/animator tandem Péter Vacz and Joseph Wallace, Polish animator Piotr Szczepanowicz, and abstract Japanese animator Maya Yonesho, among others.
The finalists for the British Animation Awards 2014 are announced; held every two years, the British Animation Awards reward the best in British animation across a variety of categories.
