Allen Maldonado and Earl Baylon join the upcoming Tomb Raider anime series based on Square Enix’s hit global game franchise.
Netflix and Legendary Television’s upcoming anime series, based on Square Enix’s hit Tomb Raider global game franchise, continues to add arrows to its voice talent quiver as two more actors have joined the famed treasure hunting team. Last month, it was announced that Hayley Atwell (Captain America, Mission Impossible 7) will voice the iconic adventurer Lara Croft in the new series. Now, Allen Maldonado (Heels, The Wonder Years) takes on the role of tech expert and colleague Zip, and Earl Baylon reprises his role from the video game as the voice of Lara’s friend and voice of reason, Jonah Maiava.

The announcement comes as part of Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos-Montréal's Tomb Raider 25th anniversary celebration. More information about all of the anniversary news and initiatives can be found here.

The anime series picks up after the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider Survivor videogame trilogy; the animated series charts the globetrotting heroine’s next chapter as she begins to take on the role of the iconic tomb raider. 25 years after her first game appeared, Lara continues to discover hidden temples, tombs, and dangers at every turn.
Executive producers for the anime series include Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja), who will write and executive produce; dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog, Life is Strange), Howard Bliss and Stephan Bugaj; and Jacob Robinson, under his company Tractor Pants.
Since its launch, the Tomb Raider video game series has sold over 85 million copies and garnered a treasure chest worth of awards. The game’s success has led to a global franchise encompassing movies, merchandise, comic books and now, a stylish animated series. The most recent game release, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, has received numerous “Best of” nominations and awards. The Tomb Raider video games are developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix.
