The Interactive TV & Online Learning Conference gives the education field and technology sector an opportunity to share ideas and new developments in the world of interactive learning. The conference's key areas of focus will be: strategic issues; the role of agencies in advertising the education industry; the different digital TV platforms available; market reactions; the effects of new distribution channels; integration enhanced TV and Web learning; and the role of video in distance education.

The Independent Film Project/Midwest is holding their ninth annual conference to highlight independent filmmaking in the Midwest region of the United States. On Saturday, the conference will hold E-Cinema Expo, which will be devoted to DV, HD and Internet-based filmmaking. On Saturday evening, The Flyover Zone Film Festival will showcase short subjects created by IFP/Midwest members or in the "Flyover Zone" (i.e. the Midwest). During the festival, the IFP/Midwest will announce the recipient of this year's Independent Production Fund grant.

The 4th Annual Collectibles Business and Gift Executive Conference is a place for executives in the gifts and collectibles market to learn about the newest trends in the industry. The event will feature industry speakers and sales strategy workshops.

An animation art auction will be held to benefit the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias. The art was donated from the private collections of animators. Memorabilia from movie openings and personal awards have also been donated. Selections are from MULAN, HERCULES, SNOW WHITE, POCAHONTAS, TOY STORY, NICKELODEON, RUGRATS, FANTASIA/2000, DINOSAUR and more. The silent auction will be held as Klasky Csupo Studios near Sunset Blvd and Vine Streets. A catalog of the items will be available in early September and bids can be placed via phone, fax or mail.

The Digital Media Innovations Conference has a full program dedicated to animation, 3D visualization and multimedia and telecommunications convergence. In animation, the conference will feature seminars on digital technologies, 3D animation software developments, cutting edge of digital visual effects, CG 4 kids' programming, tools for animating the Web, storytelling for the digital age and future opportunities in new media.

MIPCOM: International Film and Programme Market for TV, Video, Cable and Satellite is one of the world's largest and most prestigious television markets. MIPCOM gives companies from around the world an opportunity to complete program sales, deals, new contacts and joint ventures. From September 30 - October 1, MIPCOM Junior will focus on the growing world of children's programming. Comic Book Legal Defense Fund Auction Extravaganza will feature original comics artwork, signed prints and comics, rare collectibles, toys and much more. The auction begins in July on eBay and climaxes at Wizard World. The CBLDF Auction Extravaganza is orchestrated by CHAOS! COMICS publishers Brian and Francisca Pulido, and sponsored by eBay and WIZARD. Many comics creators and publishers have donated work from the likes of Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, Adrian Tomine, Judd Winick, Steve Lieber and Billy Tucci.

SIGGRAPH 2000 is the foremost conference and expo on computer graphics. This year's event will feature an art gallery of some of the best digital work being created in the world. The event gives students, educators and artists a chance to communicate with the international computer graphics industry. The computer animation festival has the following categories: entertainment, visualization, education, art, non-narrative and experimental. The expo will feature in-depth labs, programs, seminars, forums, workshops and discussion on the industry of visual effects.

In its 17th year, the Showbiz Expo and Conference is a major spot for companies to showcase their production products and discuss the future of the entertainment industry. Among this year's seminars will be "Digital Hollywood: Bringing Entertainment Project Management into the New Millennium." The event will be hosted by Creative Planet and feature a look at how new technology will transform the efficiency of entertainment production. Another seminar of interest is "Storyboards For People Who Can't Draw." The discussion will be lead by James O. Fraioli, the author of STORYBOARDING 101.

Inspired Art Fair is the only U.K. annual art fair showcasing up to 70 independent undiscovered artists held at Old Truman Brewery, 91, Brick Lane, London E1,16th - 21st Nov. The launch in Oct. 2003 gave 49 international sculptors, drawers, painters, photographers and digital artists of exceptional quality the opportunity to show and sell their work to thousands of visitors and international galleries.
