Crowd Shot The Challenge With Vantage Point

CIS Vancouver and CIS London (both formerly Rainmaker Visual Effects) completed 397 shots for the new Columbia Pictures' action thriller VANTAGE POINT, which opened No. 1 at the box office on Feb. 22.

The film revolves around eight strangers with eight different points of view who try to unlock the one truth behind an assassination attempt on the President of the United States.

Aardman Signs On for Creature Discomforts Campaign

U.K. charity Leonard Cheshire Disability has teamed up with Aardman Animations in a new campaign to challenge and change attitudes towards disability. Based on the much-loved CREATURE COMFORTS series, Creature Discomforts features the hallmark plasticine characters with disabilities, combined with the real voices and experiences of disabled people. New characters include a bull terrier in a wheelchair, a stick insect with a walking stick, and a tortoise on crutches.

Exopolis Revives Edward Hopper-Inspired Promo for TCM

Exopolis was recently tapped by Turner Classic Movies (TCM) to breath new life into the much-loved "Sunny Side of Life" promo that first aired on the network 13 years ago. Using modern-day animation techniques, Exopolis brought viewers into a moody Edward Hopper-esque cityscape. The :30 animated piece entitled "TCM Now Showing" introduces films on the classic movie channel.

Criminal Charges Dropped Against Aqua Teen Duo

The criminal charges have been dropped against the two men who carried out the AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE movie's guerilla marketing campaign, which caused a bomb scare in Boston in January, reports THE BOSTON GLOBE.

Peter Berdovsky and Sean Stevens had taken a plea deal to save them from a sentence that could have been up to five years in jail. Berdovsky performed 80 hours and Stevens 60 hours of community service at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where they designed a mural and helped with repairs on the facility's Charles River sailing docks.

Chris Palmer Casts Spell for Chameleon

Chris Palmer, who directed the live-action SIMPSONS opening credits, has been tapped to direct A SPELL FOR CHAMELEON for Warner Bros. Pictures, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Wolfgang Petersen will produce through his Radiant Prods. along side David Benioff.

Based on the first book in Piers Anthonys long-running XANTH novel series, the tale takes place in the land of Xanth where all the people have magical powers. The story follows a young man who is banished for not having powers.

Radium Creates ‘Product People’ Party for Target

Production house Radium lent its CG and visual effects expertise to create a high-energy street-party themed spot, PRODUCT PEOPLE, for Target, a client of Peterson Milla Hooks, Minneapolis.

Directed by Spaz Williams (THE WILD), with Radiums creative director Jonathan Keeton, the spot features Target store products that merge with each other to form dancing party people. PRODUCT PEOPLE is the first in a series of Target spots Radium will produce this year with Peterson Milla Hooks. It debuted April 2.
