KitBash3D Teams with Epic Games on Digital Asset Library

10,000+ digital assets are coming to Fortnite creators via Fab, Epic’s new creator marketplace, now available in its Alpha Version.

KitBash3D has partnered with Epic Games to bring the entire KitBash3D library to Fab, Epic’s new unified creator marketplace launching later this year. Fab will provide digital content creators a destination to discover, share, buy, and sell digital assets. The Alpha version is currently available as a plugin within Epic’s Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), which was released today in Public Beta.

Epic revealed the news today during the State of Unreal keynote at the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. KitBash3D is also building new bespoke UEFN Kits to be released over the next few months through the Fab plugin for UEFN.

“KitBash3D has long been recognized as one of the industry leaders in premium world-building assets for blockbuster movies and games,” said Bill Clifford, GM, Creator Marketplaces, Epic Games. “By bringing their library to Fab and partnering to create original Kits for UEFN creators, we’re connecting KitBash3D to a whole new audience of creators who will now be able to build diverse, high-fidelity experiences in Fortnite.”

"We believe that UEFN and Fab are the next big opportunities for developers and 3D content creators,” added Banks Boutté, Co-CEO of KitBash3D. “As we look towards the future of gaming and the development of the metaverse, the democratization of quality assets plays a critical role in realizing that reality. We couldn't be happier to collaborate with Epic Games, who shares our commitment to enable and inspire creators of the virtual frontier.”

The KitBash3D library is a collection of over 10,000 assets used in major film franchises, including Dr. Strange, Black Adam, and Spider-Man, popular TV shows like The Last of Us, Star Trek: Discovery, and Halo and AAA gaming titles such as The Last of Us Part II, NBA 2K, and The Elder Scrolls. In addition, the library offers a wide range of cohesive styles, such as CyberPunk, Americana, Warzone, and Utopia, that provide creators with building blocks to craft virtual worlds.

"By giving millions of Fortnite players the tools and resources they need to bring their ideas to life, Epic Games is set to revolutionize what’s possible for individual creators around the world,” commented Maxx Burman, Co-CEO of KitBash3D. “We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting new chapter for Fortnite and can’t wait to see what new forms of storytelling and gameplay stem from this community."

The KitBash3D Mission to Minerva Kit and tutorial are free and available now via the Unreal Engine Marketplace; additional KitBash3D assets will be available over the coming months.
