‘Zafari’ Set to Take a Bow at MIP Junior

Ink Global takes Zafari, a new animated series from David Dozoretz, to MIP Junior.

London, UK -- Zafari is the brainchild of David Dozoretz – an animation visionary who worked alongside George Lucas on the Star Wars prequels and also contributed to major movies such as Jurassic Park, Forrest Gump, Moulin Rouge, X-Men 3, J.J. Abrams' Star Trek and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

With a multi-million euro budget in place, this sumptuous animation tells the story of a group of animal friends who live together in Zafari – a land that’s home to a collection of unique inhabitants who have all been magically born with the skin of other animals. The series follows the adventures of Zoomba – a little elephant with zebra stripes – as he explores and makes sense of the world. Zafari concentrates on the themes of inclusivity and friendship, inspiring kids that everybody is unique in some way and that our differences should be celebrated.

“There is a big buzz growing around this property – it has such an incredible pedigree through David Dozoretz and no expense will be spared during the production process,” says  Director Claus Tømming. “Zafari, with its strong message of embracing our differences, is a story that needs to be told to the world.  We believe this enhances the brand and makes it really stand out in a crowded market. The fact that broadcasters are already signing up in the pre-production phase shows its potential and MIPCOM Junior represents a huge opportunity for both broadcasters and licensees to link up with what will be a massive global property.”
