Take ‘A Look Inside’ the terrifying supernatural thriller following the dual demonic possession of two young girls, featuring the return of Ellen Burstyn reprising her iconic role as Chris MacNeil, only in theaters October 6.
Ready for a glimpse inside the evil? Universal Pictures has released a new featurette for The Exorcist: Believer titled A Look Inside, taking fans behind the scenes of a demonic dual possession.
In the film, since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake, Victor Fielding (Leslie Odom, Jr.; One Night in Miami, Hamilton) has raised their daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett; Good Girls) on his own. When Angela and her friend Katherine (newcomer Olivia Marcum), disappear in the woods and return with no memory of what happened to them, a chain of events is unleashed which forces Victor to confront the nadir of evil and seek out Chris MacNeil.
For the first time since the 1973 film, Ellen Burstyn reprises her iconic role as Chris MacNeil, an actress who has been forever altered by what happened to her daughter Regan five decades before.
The film also stars Emmy winner Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale, Hereditary) as Victor and Angela’s neighbor, as well as Jennifer Nettles (Harriet, The Righteous Gemstones) and Norbert Leo Butz (Fosse/Verdon, Bloodline) as Katherine’s parents.
The Exorcist: Believer is directed by David Gordon Green (Halloween) from a screenplay by Peter Sattler (Camp X-Ray) and Green, from a story by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills), Danny McBride (Halloween trilogy) and Green, based on characters created by William Peter Blatty.
The film is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse as well as David Robinson and James G. Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment.
McBride, Green, Stephanie Allain, Ryan Turek and Atilla Yücer executive produce. Universal Pictures presents a Blumhouse/Morgan Creek Entertainment production in association with Rough House Pictures. The freaky VFX were created by Crafty Apes, with Andre Coutu acting as visual effects producer.
The Exorcist: Believer begins its theatrical haunt October 6.
