Rock Autism Benefit Concert for Center for Learning Unlimited Set

An evening of live music with Max Muscato, David Nolf, and Telephone Tag will benefit the organization’s Brainstorm Productions’ animation school for autistic students; show coming February 5 to Hotel Café in Los Angeles.

SonMax Music has announced a benefit tour supporting Autism Acceptance, kicking off February 5 at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles. The evening features live music with Rock Autism: Max Muscato, David Nolf, and Telephone Tag. The event will also benefit The Center for Learning Unlimited’s Brainstorm Productions. Tickets are available here.

Muscato, who developed a new wave of music and film opportunities for youth with Autism, has setup the nonprofit on tour. Along the way, he will donate a portion of the ticket sales to Rock Autism Multimedia Vocational Programs - music and film production workshops and internships for students on the spectrum.

Author and creator Linda Malik will be on hand, launching her second children's picture book in the “Willow's Tale” series. Inspired by the author’s little black cat, the illustrations are by Brainstorm Productions’ neurodiverse artists. Malik will present and sign her books at Rock Autism and promote her two Willow animated short films created by Brainstorm Productions - the films are currently screening at various film festivals. A portion of the book sales will benefit Rock Autism. Her latest book "Willow's Tale: a Little Black Cat goes stargazing" is also illustrated by the artists at Brainstorm Productions."

Muscato’s brother Sonny, a gifted drummer with Autism, experienced physical and mental abuse in assisted living facilities, by drug dealers, and by a correction officer. Witnessing this inspired him to found Rock Autism to develop young leaders within the Autism community by providing music and film workshops for autistic youth, keeping them free from depression, isolation, addiction, and suicide.

“After my brother was shot, he struggled with addiction and thoughts of suicide,” shared Muscato. “I'm ready to take the stage at The Hotel Cafe and share these songs with the world.”

Rock Autism’s mission is to support individuals on the autism spectrum to develop a craft in music, film, and multimedia arts that leads to employment in their given field of interest.

Muscato's “Night of Sonnyboy Tour” will donate to local Autism and Children’s Centers where it travels and invite the local Autism Communities to participate in the events. More information and tour dates are available here.
