BIAF 2019 Grand Prize winner for her film, ‘Marona’s Fantastic Tale,’ will create signature materials for upcoming 2020 edition to be held October 23 - 27.
The Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF 2020), an Academy Award-qualifying festival, has announced that the official poster and trailer for this year’s event will be created by Anca Damian, who won both the BIAF Grand Prize and Audiences Prize in 2019 for her animated feature film, Marona’s Fantastic Tale. Damian’s other accolades include, the Annecy Cristal, (Crulic: The Path to the Beyond - 2011) and the Grand Prix of Animafest Zagreb (The Magic Mountain - 2015).
Marona’s Fantastic Tale features Marona, a mixed-breed Labrador, who after an accident, reflects on her past homes and experiences. Journeying back through her memories, she reflects on the deep impressions she has made on her owners’ lives. With Marona’s unfailing love and empathy she had provided lightness and innocence to her families. Marona's Fantastic Tale is a beautiful and emotional story of an average dog and her extraordinary.
Anca Damian will return to BIAF this year as a member of the feature film competition jury.
BIAF2020 will be held October 23 - 27 at Bucheon, just outside Seoul, South Korea.
