Animac 2002 is an international annual animation show that celebrating its 6th edition from the 14th to 17th of February 2002 in Lleida, Spain. Animac is a non-competitive event that is a platform for the best animation from all times to be screened and in which the animation cinema researches new ways of experimentation and dialog between the different artistic disciplines. Pixar Animation Studios executive vice president, creative and animation director John Lasseter (Toy Story, A Bug's Life) will be joined by Lee Unkrich (co-director Toy Story 2) and Pete Docter (director, Monsters, Inc.) for a discussion and demonstration of the creation of computer animated graphics, featuring clips from the soon-to-be-released Monsters, Inc. Director Taylor Hackford (An Officer and a Gentleman, Proof of Life) will guide the conversation, covering the production process from beginning to end.

Wizard World Chicago 2001 Attendance Tops 40,000

The annual multi-media and comics convention, Wizard World Chicago 2001, saw over 40,000 consumers attend the three-day event, which featured autograph signings, movie previews, panels and product presentations from exhibitors and guest stars. Wizard World's special guests included filmmaker Kevin Smith (JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK) and numerous comics' artists and writers, along with 2001 guest of honor, painter Alex Ross. This year's attendance was a 12% rise from last year's crowds, filling the 275,000 square-foot hall of the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

Aleksandra Korejwo Screening and Silent Auction: Saturday, September 29, 2001, Hollywood, California USA. ACME Filmworks, ASIFA-Hollywood and Women In Animation present a silent auction of original storyboard pastels and paintings and a screening of six animated shorts by Aleksandra Korejwo. Polish director Aleksandra Korejwos unique style of animation is achieved by using colored salts that are manipulated with the use of a condor feather. Each frame of animation art measures 30 x 24 inches and is rendered and shot on 1s under the top lit Oxberry camera.
