VFX, Animation, Motion Graphics and VR Studio Torque Launches

Digital artists Lawrence Jones and Jason Vega launch content creation studio in Hartford, CT; new studio’s first project is ‘Keep Moving’ spot for Orthopedic Associates of Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT -- Digital artists Lawrence Jones and Jason Vega have launched a new content creation studio in Hartford, CT, called Torque. The new company specializes in the creation of visual effects, animation, motion graphics, and VR experiences for the commercial, entertainment, broadcast, cable and streaming television industries. Jones and Vega, both multi-disciplinary creatives, have launched the new studio with a strong emphasis on maximizing client budgets while maintaining the highest quality standard of digital artistry.

“It is becoming very clear that the broadcast advertising industry is in need of a unique creative and technology company that will create integrated advertising solutions,” commented Jones. “The broadcast arena is screaming for creative and innovative ways by which brands and networks can leverage the latest tech to empower engaging storytelling. Our new creative company will offer clients cost effective and impactful solutions that deliver the messages they wish to present to their target audiences at a fraction of the typical industry fees.” Adds Vega, “We purposely keep our overhead down so that we can offer high end products and services to clients at affordable prices. By using the latest technologies at our disposal, we are able to do just that."

Jones and Vega have also just completed a new commercial campaign for client Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, entitled “Keep Moving.” This 60-second spot informs viewers that since life moves so fast, everyone really needs to set aside time to take care of their own body. This message is fortified thematically by incorporation of Torque's colorful visuals which appear throughout the spot.

Set on a beautiful autumn day, a middle-aged couple jog through a tree-lined path, when suddenly, time creeps to a halt. The viewer is flown in normal time around the couple’s suspended bodies. Old nagging injuries are visualized with elegant motion graphics, to reinforce the idea that one should never ignore old injuries, but should, rather, take care of them now with the best medical practitioners in the field, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford.

The marketing strategy firm RW/JD Connect commissioned Torque to provide concept, previz, production, post and finish on the “Keep Moving” spot.

"Torque's extensive knowledge in production and VFX for commercials, coupled with their overall creative input, resulted in a high quality commercial usually reserved for bigger budgets”, said Janine DiNatale, RW/JD Connect Creative Director on the project.

"Their input took our concept to a new level, and they delivered on time, with no cost overruns,” adds Robin Walden, RW/JD Connect Marketing Director.
