The series adaptation of the hugely popular PlayStation games, starring Anthony Mackie as John Doe, will return to deliver another package; Season 1 now streaming.

Peacock has renewed Twisted Metal for a second season, according to Variety. The series adaptation of the hugely popular PlayStation games stars Anthony Mackie as John Doe, a motor-mouthed outsider who’s offered a chance at a new life via the world’s most dangerous delivery.

“I have to give a Sweet Tooth-sized thank you to our incredible fans – I read every comment and was so blown away by everyone’s love, support, and rabid enthusiasm for a paper bag,” said showrunner, writer and executive producer, Michael Jonathan Smith in a statement. “We are beyond thankful we get to continue the story of John Doe, Quiet, and Sweet Tooth as they face off against familiar faces and new grim foes in the long-awaited Twisted Metal tournament. The mixtape is made, and I’m thrilled to get back on the road with our stellar cast and crew.”

In addition to Mackie, the show stars Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, and Joe Seanoa. Guest stars include Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr.

The series is an original take on the game franchise by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (DeadpoolZombieland). Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer for the series. Mackie also executive produces alongside Arnett, Marc Forman from Electric Avenue (Murderville), Jason Spire (Inspire Entertainment), Peter Principato (Artists First), Asad Qizilbash, and Carter Swan from PlayStation Productions and Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios.

Cause and FX New Zealand, with their exceptional team of artists, was the primary vendor for the first season, as well as Boxel Studio and Encore VFX, with Joshua Spivack as one of the series' visual effects supervisors.

Twisted Metal Season 1 streams now on Peacock.
