Netflix has released its “Cinematic Masterpiece” trailer and soundtrack for its highly anticipated animated series Blue Eye Samurai. Set in Edo-period Japan, the story tells of a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise, seeking the deliverance of revenge. The eight-episode series streams on November 3.
From creators Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049) and Amber Noizumi, Blue Eye Samurai promises to immerse viewers in a world of “vivid adult animation with a live-action edge.” Fans can now immerse themselves in the new 25-track soundtrack. Listen to it on most platforms.
Noizumi and Green are the show’s creators, writers, and executive producers. Erwin Stoff also serves as executive producer, with Jane Wu serving as supervising director and producer. The animation is produced by Blue Spirit Animation Studio.
Blue Eye Samurai stars Maya Erskine (Mizu); George Takei (Seki); Masi Oka (Ringo); Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (The Swordmaker); Brenda Song (Akemi); Darren Barnet (Taigen); Randall Park (Heiji Shindo); and Kenneth Branagh (Abijah Fowler).
