GigaPix Studios Launches VFX Division

CGI animation company GigaPix Studios has opened a visual effects department headed by Emmy award-winning vfx supervisor Clay Dale. The division will provide complete, high-end visual effects design and post-production for feature films, television, commercial spots and music videos.

Dale is an accomplished industry veteran, including live-action compositing and CGI. He began his career in 1995 as a lead artist in PlayStation game development. By 1999 he was bringing his expertise to the CG animation industry on the hit VOLTRON TV series. His work on the Sci Fi Channels DUNE mini-series won him an Emmy for visual effects. He has recently contributed his talent for effects to feature films such as ELECTRA and DRIVEN, for which he created simulated slow speed car crashes. Other previous vfx credits for Dale include I, ROBOT, EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING and MR. & MRS. SMITH.

Having had so much fun and success working with Dale in the past, said GigaPix president, John Savage, Im excited to have him as a valuable member of the GigaPix creative team. Here he'll get to use his expertise in dynamic simulations like fluid effects, dust and fire and ensure that all our projects reach their full potential.

GigaPix has also brought on Greg Pusateri as director of audio. Also an Emmy Award-winner, Pusateri started at Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles as an assistant engineer working with several major recording artists. There he learned his trade from Cherokees top engineers, culminating in the setting up of his own recording sessions. Realizing television would lead him in the direction he wanted, Pusateri began working for Saban Ent. specializing in childrens animated cartoons.

Later, at West Prod., he was given the opportunity to work on more network shows, resulting in his Emmy for Best Sound Effects Editor for his work on the X-FILES. While at West Prod., Pusateri also received an Emmy nomination for CASPER for Best Sound Effects Editor. Shortly after, Pusateri was recruited by Warner Bros. to work in their animation department.

We are sure Gregs talent, experience and high production standards will fit in well with GigaPix Studios current and future artistic goals, said Savage.

GigaPix Studios (www.gigapixstudios.com) is located in Chatsworth, California.
