Cinar, which is beginning to rebound from its troubled past, has announced it will team with France's Alphanim to co-produce two new 26-episode animated series, CREEP SCHOOL and POTATOES & DRAGONS. CREEP SCHOOL is a spooky comedy that takes place at an isolated boarding school. The series concept was created by Torbjorn Janson and Sweden's Happy Life, and will be co-produced by CINAR, Alphanim & Happy Life. The series is set to broadcast on TeleTOON (Canada), France 3 and ZDF in Germany. POTATOES & DRAGONS is set in the Potato Kingdom, a medieval village where King Hugo III and his potato knights must take on a menacing dragon that lives next door. The series concept was created by Ian Riesenberg and Alphanim. It will be co-produced by Cinar and Alphanim and will be broadcast on TeleTOON, France 3 and Canal J (France), and ITV (UK). "We are extremely happy to collaborate again with Cinar," said Christian Davin, president of Alphanim. "CREEP SCHOOL and POTATOES & DRAGONS are two outstanding fun and imaginative series that are promising on every level." In addition to the two new series, a fourth season of the Cinar and Alphanim co-production MONA THE VAMPIRE has been greenlit for 13 additional episodes.
