Little Lit Exhibit Comes to MoCCA

The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is holding a "Little Lit" exhibit, featuring original artwork and stories from popular and acclaimed children's book series. The exhibit includes works by Paul Auster, Harry Bliss, Kim Dietch, Ian Falconer, Jules Feiffer, Neil Gaiman, Martin Hanford, William Joyce, Kaz, David Macaulay, David Mazzucchelli, Barbara McClintock, Patrick McDonnell, Tony Millionaire, Francoise Mouly, Marc Rosenthal, Richard Sala, David Sedaris, R. Sikoryak, Lemony Snicket, Art Spiegelman, and Gahan Wilson.

Grant Munro Rediscovered

On the occasion of Grant Munro's 80th birthday and the release of a new DVD, Cut-Up, The Films of Grant Munro, The Museum of Modern Art pays tribute to this seminal but under-recognized animator. Working from within the historic Animation Unit of the National Film Board of Canada from 1945 through the early 1970s, Munro directed, produced, shot, edited and even acted in some of the most significant hand-drawn and pixilated animation ever made. A frequent collaborator with Norman McLaren, Munro brought a wicked wit and sublime grace to the art.

Ion Luca Caragiale Exhibit

"International Federation of Journalists" and "Cartoonists Rights Network East Europe" is presenting an international exhibition dedicated to Ion Luca Caragiale, an East European writer, humorist, dramatist, caricaturist and journalist, killed in 1912 because of his features. All great caricaturists from the world were invited to submit their work. Ten gold prizes of $1,000 will be awarded and winners along with 15 other cartoonists will be invited to participate at exhibition's open.

Writing The Screenplay 101 Workshop

Chris Wehner, editor-n-chief of SCREENWRITER'S MONTHLY, author of SCREENWRITING ON THE INTERNET: RESEARCHING, WRITING & SELLING YOUR SCRIPT ON THE WEB (2000) and WHO WROTE THAT MOVIE? SCREENWRITING IN REVIEW: 2000-2002 will be conducting an online writing workshop entitled, "Writing The Screenplay 101." Classes meet every Monday for four weeks from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm (MST). Students will accomplish at least 10 pages, not exceeding 30 pages, of script development. Students will learn the basics of screenwriting and ascertain enough knowledge to continue writing their screenplay and finish.
