Storyopolis will feature portrait drawing classes for adults beginning July 15, 2003 to be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings through July 24, 2003. This class is appropriate for both seasoned artists and beginners, and will focus on getting a good likeness using proportions, site lines and measurements from a live model. MTA Metro Art is holding the 2004 Neighborhood Poster Series. The selected artworks will be reproduced in a range of poster formats and displayed throughout the Metro system including stations, trains, buses and various other locations. Please note that this is a qualification based call so no proposals are requested. Eligibility is limited to Los Angeles County-based professional artists and illustrators.

Regarding the Competition Film, video and digital works will be judged on an equal footing. This competition is about how well your ideas are communicated on the screen more so than how high the production value. We believe that the grittiest video can be conceptually well crafted and beat out the prettiest 35mm film which is conceptually vapid. The durations are divided at the 45 minute mark for "features" and "shorts." If your film is between 40 and 46 minutes, you decide which competition category is preferable.
