Trioscope Studios Inks Production Deal with Quality Films

Studio behind Netflix’s The Liberator WWII limited series will pair their innovative hybrid animation technique with media company’s extensive celebrity roster to produce a slate of original scripted content; action horror series exploring African American struggles in America already under development.

Trioscope Studios (The Liberator) and Quality Control Media Holdings’ subsidiary Quality Films have announced a co-production partnership to access the media company’s roster of artists and athletes to develop a robust slate of scripted content. Trioscope, known for its enhanced hybrid animation that combines human performances with animated environments, and Quality Films are already in development on a TV series; based on a graphic novel, the unique action horror genre project looks at African American struggles in America.

The projects will be led by Trioscope’s chiefs L.C. Crowley, Greg Jonkajtys, and Brandon Barr; Quality Control’s co-founders, CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas and COO Kevin “Coach K” Lee; and Quality Films president Brian Sher.

Marking the first of a series of co-produced projects, the collaboration underscores Trioscope’s commitment to align with innovative talent to blaze new trails with its proprietary, imaginative style of animation.

“We’re prioritizing opportunities that redefine how our animated drama platform can shape how stories are experienced,” explained Crowley. “Quality Control has revolutionized the music industry and influenced American pop culture monumentally; through our partnership, we’ll create a unique fusion of culture and animation to take television to the next level.”

“We are excited to partner with the Trioscope team and technology to tell unique and compelling stories that speak to every facet of the Black experience,” added Lee. “This is what Quality Films is all about.”

The news comes on the heels of an already busy year for Trioscope. In addition to launching The Liberator on Netflix, the company has partnered with Dark Horse Comics, Oni Press, Netflix, and Unique Features for unannounced projects. The Liberator is the first project ever produced in Trioscope Enhanced Hybrid Animation, a new patent-pending technology combining state-of-the-art CGI with live-action performance, designed to bring an unprecedented level of emotion and fidelity to the animated drama experience.
