Wallace & Gromit Return to DVD

In anticipation of the first WALLACE & GROMIT theatrical feature, WALLACE & GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT, a collection of Aardmans three acclaimed shorts has been reissued on DVD Sept. 20, 2005, along with some new goodies.

WALLACE & GROMIT IN THREE AMAZING ADVENTURES (DreamWorks Home Ent., $19.99) contains:

* A GRAND DAY OUT (Oscar nominated in 1990): Created by clay animator Nick Park over a six-year period at the National Film and Television School in London and at the Aardman Animations studio. In their debut adventure, good-natured inventor Wallace and his canine pal Gromit find themselves desperate for "a nice bit of Gorgonzola," but their refrigerator's empty and the local cheese shop is closed. Undeterred, Wallace decides to build a rocket and blast off to the moon in search of lunar cheese!

* THE WRONG TROUSERS (Oscar winner from 93): Wallace & Gromit return for another grand adventure when their new border a suspicious-looking penguin turns out to be notorious thief. He actually uses Wallaces latest invention, techno-trousers, to pull off his latest diamond heist, and its Gromits turn for some canine heroics.

* A CLOSE SHAVE (Oscar winner from 95): In their third outing, Wallace & Gromit provide a window-washing service and uncover a sheep-napping scheme involving a nasty dog that they foil with their latest Knit-O-Matic device.

Plus, available for the first time on DVD WALLACE & GROMIT IN CRACKING CONTRAPTIONS, 10 mini-shorts featuring more of Wallace's zany inventions and the hilarious dilemmas they always create. Theres also a sneak peek at CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT, which opens Oct. 7 through DreamWorks.
