Legendary comic book creator Stan Lee and his company POW! Entertainment, along with Brighton Partners, have joined forces with Rainmaker Entertainment to launch the new superhero property LEGION OF 5, it was announced today by Warren Franklin, CEO of Rainmaker.
Rainmaker, a leading CG animation producer, will develop and produce the feature length film properties.
The property, owned jointly by Rainmaker, POW! and Brighton, will initially be launched through a series of CG animated films, supported by traditional and electronic comics, games, merchandising, and online and mobile releases.
"What a kick to be partnered with the top CG animation company in the biz! I can't wait to have Rainmaker take my newest set of superheroes and work their animated magic on them. Between Rainmaker and POW! we hope to offer the public a visually exciting, thrill-a-minute, new type of entertainment that'll knock the viewers' socks off!" said Lee.
The partnership was arranged by Rainmaker's Aaron L. Gilbert, who will serve as an Executive Producer on the property alongside Rainmaker's Executive Vice President Paul Gertz; Lee, Gill Champion of POW!; and Cord Beatty of Brighton Partners.
The three companies will be together at this weekend's New York Comic Con where Stan Lee will receive the inaugural "New York Comics Legend Award" at a special VIP party at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square.
