Peak Ent. Announces Licensing Deals for Pretty Pony & Muffin the Mule

Peak Ent. Holdings Inc has announced new licensing deals for its properties, PRETTY PONY and MUFFIN THE MULE.

Peak Ent. has struck agreements with Toontastic Ltd and Color Media Ltd. to publish comics based upon PRETTY PONY. The agreement renews a long standing license with Toontastic where an average 250,000 PRETTY PONY comics and specials will be marketed in the U.K. annually, and a new deal with Color Media Intl, who have agreed to a license with Peak and will partner with Toontastic to service Serbia and Montenegro with a localized version of the PRETTY PONY comic format.

"The relationship with Toontastic is long established, and one that we are very pleased to renew. The deal provides a favorable royalty income from one of our stable of intellectual properties that we are currently not exploiting purely from a television perspective," said Alan Shorrocks, licensing director of Peak Ent. "The new deal with Color Media provides expansion of the PRETTY PONY brand and also allows us to help an existing licensee nurture new business, a win/win all around for us and our licensees."

Peak has also sealed a deal with Fun 2 Learn Ltd. to license high profile coin operated character rides based upon MUFFIN THE MULE. The agreement will see Fun 2 Learn manufacture and site MUFFIN THE MULE children's coin operated rides at supermarkets and major shopping centers such as Asda/Walmart, Tesco Stores, etc, across the U.K. beginning in spring 2006.

"Children's character rides are powerful extensions of our brand awareness program that also provide a fun and entertaining environment for parents and children," said Phil Ogden, md of Peak Ent.

"The classic character of Muffin has always had a special affinity with ride-ons and we are proud to uphold that tradition with the industry leader Fun 2 Learn," added Wilf Shorrocks, ceo of Peak Ent.

"We are honored to be working with Peak Ent. on this classic character," commented Ashley Heron, md of Fund 2 Learn. "Muffin lends itself perfectly to our rides and with our anticipated roll out into premier sites we expect to generate huge awareness for Peak."

Muffin the Mule, based on the hugely popular BBC (British Broadcasting Company) series in the 1940s and 50s, is a new animated television series, which targets children ages 2-5. The series has been commissioned for broadcast by the BBC and launched in Sept. 2005 on CBBC and CBeebies (Children's BBC).
