HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL's Ashley Tisdale is in talks to star in United Artists' remake TEEN WITCH, per VARIETY.
Tisdale, best known as Sharpay Evans in the HSM franchise, has also set up a first-look deal with AMERICAN IDOL producers FremantleMedia North America.
In a one-year pact, which is close to being signed, the production company will develop projects around Tisdale.
Tisdale, 22, stars as Maddie in the Disney Channel sitcom THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACH & CODY and is also a singer, releasing the album HEADSTRONG in 2007.
In TEEN WITCH, originally made in 1989, Tisdale would play Louise Miller, an unpopular girl who discovers she possess the powers of a witch and is the descendent of a long line of witches.
