Mr. Men Little Miss will make their official re-launch in the U.S. this summer with two special events in Los Angeles.  Acquired in 2012 by Sanrio, the global lifestyle brand behind pop icon Hello Kitty, Mr. Men Little Miss features the beloved family of over 85 boldly illustrated characters and their unique personalities. Originating in the 1970s with illustrator Roger Hargreaves’ bubbly Mr. Tickle story, the Mr. Men Little Miss characters became household names in the U.K. with a collection of books, T.V. series and a range of consumer products. The bright, lovable characters appeal to everyone, making them one the most adored self-expression brands in the world. Now, Mr. Happy, Little Miss Sunshine and all of the characters will be re-introduced with two special events in Los Angeles aimed at fans of all ages: Mr. Men Little Miss Go to Hollywood at RON ROBINSON Fred Segal and Everybody’s a Somebody! Over 50 Artists Explore the World of Mr. Men Little Miss, an art show and workshop at iam8bit Gallery.

Mr. Men Little Miss Go to Hollywood. On Saturday, August 10, all are invited to attend the Mr. Men Little Miss Go to Hollywood launch event celebrating the official product collection debut at RON ROBINSON Fred Segal. The exclusive capsule collection features fashion t-shirts and knit tops for men, women and kids by celebrity t-shirt emporium Junk Food Clothing Co.  The British characters explore the distinctly sunny, laid back atmosphere of L.A. with exclusive Santa Monica and Hollywood designs created by Junk Food. These limited edition designs will also be featured on covetable tote bags and backpacks by Loungefly. Additional Mr. Men Little Miss products will include iPhone cases, giclee prints, stationery and drink ware.

A fun-filled afternoon for the whole family, Mr. Men Little Miss Go to Hollywood is open to the public and will include special activities, sweet treats and refreshments. Guests can receive complimentary nail art by Katie Cazorla and temporary tattoos of their favorite characters as well as the chance to participate in a personalized flipbook photo op. Custom crystal applications by Katherine Parnello Designs will be available with the purchase of a Junk Food Mr. Men Little Miss t-shirt and all guests spending $25 or more on the new collection will receive a goodie bag.

Mr. Men Little Miss gallery show and workshop. iam8bit Gallery will bring the world of Mr. Men Little Miss to life with an exciting art show and installation at their Echo Park location from Thursday, August 22 to Sunday, September 8. The show titled, “Everybody’s a Somebody! Over 50 Artists Explore the World of Mr. Men Little Miss” will be a fully immersive experience with the gallery transformed from floor-to-ceiling into the pages of Mr. Men Little Miss storybooks. Participating artists including Gina Martynova, Hine Mizushima, Jim Mahfood, Jose Emroca Flores, Mark Englert, Nicole Gustafsson, Sandra Equihua, Seonna Hong and We Buy Your Kids. Artists will showcase their Mr. Men Little Miss-inspired works on mediums ranging from painting to sculpture to hand-sewn plush. In addition to the art, guests can purchase exclusive products at the pop-up shop.  A portion of the proceeds from the two-week event will benefit 826LA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students aged 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.

Mr. Men Little Miss will also partner with 826LA to develop a creative writing workshop event on Saturday, August 24. Open to the public, the creative writing workshop will encourage the entire family to participate in developing their own Mr. Men Little Miss stories and scenes. 826LA workshop leaders will then help illustrate each of the stories and guests will enjoy the experience long after the workshop with a special take-home book.
