Keynote Speaker Olfman To Share Portfolio’s Success Story At TAC

Ottawa, Canada. — Organizers of TAC announced today that Lisa Olfman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Portfolio Entertainment, will share the story of the company’s success in the international television industry, as a keynote speaker at this year’s TAC business forum, taking place during the Ottawa International Animation Festival.

For Immediate Release - Ottawa, Canada. — Organizers of TAC announced today that Lisa Olfman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Portfolio Entertainment, will share the story of the company’s  success in the international television industry, as a keynote speaker at this year’s TAC business forum,  taking place during the Ottawa International Animation Festival.

Co-Founded with co-CEO Joy Rosen, Portfolio Entertainment is one of Canada’s leading independent producers and distributors of bold, award-winning television programs for kids, tweens, teens and adults. Lisa Olfman and Joy Rosen’s commitment to creative excellence have propelled their programs onto the world’s most prestigious television networks. The partners have won numerous television industry awards and have ranked in Profit Magazine's Top 100 Female Business Owners List.  Their most recent animated project is the highly regarded Cat in the Hat Knows A lot About That!, which they co-Executive Produce and distribute internationally. The series is currently seen on Treehouse, PBS, CITV in the UK and will soon be launching on numerous Playhouse Disney channels around the world.

Olfman will take to the stage at TAC on Thursday, October 21 to talk about how she and Rosen built what started with a borrowed typewriter, a dream and a small bank loan, into a company that creates and exports over $20 million in television content every year.

TAC attendees will also receive advice on international co-production from keynote speakers Emmanuèle Pétry, industry consultant, and Mary Bredin of Toronto’s Guru Animation studio, on Wednesday, October 20. Pétry and Bredin will offer a fresh perspective on co-productions over the past 20 years, discussing how animation companies can forge a strong business partnership even when working cross-culturally and across time zones.

TAC is Canada’s only animation business forum designed for professionals in content creation, development, production, distribution and marketing. TAC brings together key players in North American and international markets and provides a forum for active networking, practical information exchange and trade in a comfortable and intimate environment. The 7th annual TAC will be held October 20 and 21, 2010 at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Ontario.

Running before and during TAC is the inaugural Cartoon Connection Canada-EU event. Organized by Cartoon and the OIAF, this new event will bring a select group of Canadian and European producers together for an intense three days of networking.
