Frank Miller In Business with Raymond Chandler

Graphic novel icon Frank Miller is moving ahead with a feature film project -- this time entering the world of film noir with an adaptation of Raymond Chandler's TROUBLE IS MY BUSINESS novella for Universal Pictures and Strike Ent., reports VARIETY. The project will reunite the 300 author with his SIN CITY star Clive Owen.

Strike partners Marc Abraham and Eric Newman are set to produce with Owen and Phil Clymer exec producing.

"Frank Miller knows more about noir than anyone I have ever met, and clearly the writing of Raymond Chandler has been an enormous influence on his life and his work," Owen was quoted as saying. "Miller adapting Chandler seemed like a perfect match."

Universal and Strike obtained the rights for the story from U.K.-based Chorion. The studios hope this film will kick off a series of hard-drinking PI Philip Marlowe pics.

Miller's next project is writing and directing an adaptation of Will Eisner comicbook, THE SPIRIT. Additionally, Miller is working on a SIN CITY sequel, which he will co-direct with Robert Rodriguez.
