Dogstar Joins EM.Entertainment Distribution Portfolio

EM.Ent. GmbH, a subsidiary of EM.TV AG, has acquired extensive distribution rights to the comedy animation series DOGSTAR within the free-TV, pay-TV and home entertainment sectors. Geographically, the license extends across the German-speaking region, French-speaking parts of Europe (excluding Switzerland), Spain, Asia (excluding Japan) and Latin America. DOGSTAR is produced by Melbourne based animation studio Media World Pictures Pty Ltd. and consists of 26 half-hour episodes.

The series is set in the 26th century and concerns the three Clark children, who are searching for a missing spaceship full of dogs. In the year 2525, the planet Earth is no longer what it is today, having become uninhabitable due to terrible environmental pollution. Therefore, the citizens of planet Earth have decided to move to another planet and, of course, to take their pets with them. However, something goes wrong during the transport of the dogs, and the spaceship Dogstar in which they are traveling disappears without a trace. Unable to come to terms with the loss of their pet dog, the Clark children set off in their parents spaceship in search of Dogstar determined to find their own dog and also to return the other missing dogs to their families. However, this is something that Bob Santino and his extremely attractive and highly dangerous bodyguard Diana want to prevent. Neither of them is in the least bit interested in the return of the spaceship as, since the disappearance of Dogstar they have been making a fortune selling dog robots.

All distribution markets not included in EM.Ent.s rights package will continue to be managed by the Monaco-based company Daro Film Distribution.
