Class of 3000 Up For Second Season June 7

A new season of CLASS OF 3000, the Cartoon Network original series from creators and exec producers Andre "3000" Benjamin (OutKast) and Tom Lynch (Romeo!), starts Thursday, June 7, 2007, at 7:00 pm, following a six-and-a-half-hour marathon of the series' first season. Benjamin stars as the voice of superstar Sunny Bridges, a music teacher at a prestigious performing arts school, and will continue to write a new song for each episode.

During the marathon that airs June 7, 12:30 pm-7:00 pm, Benjamin will provide commentary on the songs and music videos that air within each episode. Viewers will also be able to follow the on screen lyrics and sing along to each original song, karaoke-style. Immediately following the marathon is an all-new episode that kicks off the series' second season. New episodes will continue to air Thursday nights at 7:00 pm.

CLASS OF 3000 premiered in November 2006 and garnered one of the network's highest rated original series debuts. The series follows international music star Sunny Bridges, who gave up his flourishing music career to teach a group of gifted musical prodigies at his alma mater, the Westley School for the Performing Arts in Atlanta.

CLASS OF 3000 is produced by Cartoon Network Studios in association with the Tom Lynch Co. and Benjamin's production company, Moxie. Guest art directors for the second season include two-time Academy Award-nominated artist Bill Plympton, world-renowned cartoonist and writer Sergio Aragonés and the Academy Award-winning animator John Canemaker.
