Cartoon Network India Airs Jungle Tales

Cartoon Network in India chose JUNGLE TALES, a 3D animated series based on the classic Panchatantra folk tales to broadcast during the Diwali festival of lights season, Nov. 6-Nov. 12. 2004 at 2:00 pm. The new show is the eighth locally produced animated series to be aired on Cartoon Network and is also the first long format 3D series produced in India by Delhi-based Moving Picture Company India Ltd.

JUNGLE TALES is an adaptation of stories from Panchatantra, a well-known collection of animal fables, aimed at imparting wisdom, wit and morals through simple yet evergreen stories and incidents. The series is smart and humorous - adapted for a contemporary audience, with a universal crossover appeal that promises to enchant both children and adults.

Moving Picture Company India Ltd. conceived, wrote, designed and executed the entire series in its state-of-the-art animation studio in Film City, Noida. A large team of animators, headed by the technical director C. B. Arun Kumar, worked on the series for 16 month, using 3ds max.

Globally the animation industry is pegged at $37 billion and experts are of the opinion that in the coming years India will become the most favored destination for international animation productions, the company released in a statement. Moving Picture Company India is committed to developing its 3D animation studio to take advantage of the big growth anticipated in this industry.
