Blur Studios short ROCKFISH will be transformed into a CG feature via Vin Diesels One Race Films. Diesel will also lend his voice to the main character. One Race is trying to secure financing for the sci-fi film, which it believes will cost under $30 million. In addition Diesel will produce alongside his partner George Zakk and Blur creative director Tim Miller, who wrote and directed the short and will direct the feature.
ROCKFISH is a comic book-influenced, high adventure tale set on a barren planet in a distant corner of the galaxy. Sirus Kirk is a no-nonsense working man tasked with rounding up creatures that swim through rocks far below the planets surface and plague the miners who live and work there. The story starts out as just another day on the job for Kirk but quickly turns into a titanic struggle with the catch of his life.
One Race has had the opportunity to work with wonderful filmmakers on live-action features. With Blur as our partner, we believe we will create imaginative and well loved animated films to reach an even wider audience, said George Zakk, producer for One Race Films.

One Race came upon the short while Blur was doing work for Diesels videogame company, Tigon Studio, which is set to make videogame based on the franchise. Diesels previous animation credit was as the voice of the title character in THE IRON GIANT.
