4Kids Entertainment has been appointed as licensing agent for Suckers, an innovative new HD animation from BRB Internacional across the US, Canada, UK and Eire. Suckers, which was awarded the Kids Jury Awards at MIP Junior 2009, comprises 104 shorts which are 2 minutes in length. Each Suckers episode depicts the world through the eyes of the Suckers, a peculiar group of toys that are attached to the rear windows of cars. With such unique, anarchic humour, no dialogue is necessary as children age 6 to 12 and their families can relate to the entertaining storylines reflecting day to day life in any big city.
Broadcasters have been quick to snap up the rights for the show, which has been airing on Disney XD in the US since last February. Spain commenced airing in April and Disney XD channels across the rest of EMEA will follow suit shortly.
Spanish based BRB Internacional is one of Europe’s leading animation producers, with past successes in the 80’s including Dogtanian and the Three Muskahounds, Around the World with Willy Fog, David the Gnome and most recently Bernard, Iron Kid and The IMP.
