New Trailer and Images for Disney’s ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’

Set in the fictional land of Kumandra, a lone warrior must find the last dragon that can help her save humanity in the studio’s upcoming animated feature release, helmed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada and scheduled to hit theatres next March.

Disney has just released a new trailer and images for their next big animated feature, Raya and the Last Dragon, now set to hit theatres March 12, 2021 after a recent reschedule due to the pandemic. We finally get a glimpse of this highly anticipated film, helmed by Don Hall, the Oscar-winning director of Big Hero 6, and Carlos López Estrada, the director of Blindspotting.

This much we know – the film is set in the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons once lived together in harmony. An evil force has returned to threaten the land 500 years after dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. A lone warrior, Raya, must track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.

In the trailer, we get a better glimpse of our heroine in action, as well as her little… eventually much bigger armored animal pal / trusty steed, Tuk Tuk. Take a look.

The film is directed by Hall and Estrada, co-directed by Paul Briggs and John Ripa, and produced by Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho. Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim are the film’s writers. It stars Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Awkwafina as the last dragon, Sisu.
