Netflix Drops Teaser Trailer for ‘Castlevania: Nocturne’

The next installment of the ‘Castlevania’ universe follows the sorceress Annette during the French Revolution as she seeks out vampire hunter Richter Belmont to lead the resistance against an aristocratic vampire foe; the show hits Netflix September 28.

Netflix has dropped a teaser trailer and a substantial amount of imagery for Castlevania: Nocturne, the next installment of the Castlevania universe.

Nocturne takes place in 1792 France, during the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to “eat the sun” and unleash an army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.

The series stars Sophie Skelton as Julia Belmont; Graham McTavish as Dracula; Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont; Emily Swallow as Lisa Tepes; James Callis as Alucard; Tony Amendola as The Elder; and Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades.

Kevin Kolde (Castlevania) and Clive Bradley (Trapped) serve as showrunners on the eight-episode series. Bradley also serves as creator and writer as well as executive producer alongside Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar. Sam Deats and Adam Deats share directing duties. Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation produce for Netflix.

Castlevania: Nocturne premieres September 28 on Netflix.
