Legendary Pictures has picked up the rights to EA's videogame MASS EFFECT, reports VARIETY. The production house will co-produce and co-fund the project with Warner Bros.
The BioWare-produced futuristic game tells the story of a team set to stop an alien race that destroys all organic life in the galaxy every 50,000 years. I AM LEGEND writer Mark Protosevich is in negotiations to write the script.
Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are the producers. Avi and Ari Arad. BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk and MASS EFFECT" exec producer Casey Hudson will exec produce the film.
