Jetpack Adds ‘Panda and Kiwi’ to MIPTV Line-Up

The distributor nabs international rights to the 3DCG animated comedy adventure following Hehe the Panda and Kiki the Kiwi, who must work together to escape the island they are stranded on.

Jetpack Distribution has acquired the international rights (outside of China, New Zealand, and MENA) for the 3DCG animated series Panda and Kiwi ahead of MIPTV this month. The deal for the series, a co-production between CCTVA and NHNZ Worldwide, includes 52 x 10-minute episodes of the comedy-adventure show for children aged four to seven. The show has aired on CCTV in China and TVNZ+ in New Zealand.

The series follows Hehe the Panda, Kiki the Kiwi, and their friends, who, while trapped on a mysterious uncharted island in the South Pacific, try not to get captured by the infamous wildlife smuggler Ratty Hat. They must find a way to get off the island and away from the smuggler whose shipwreck they escaped from. Longing for home, the friends embark on an ambitious boat-building project. Meanwhile, Ratty dreams up ways to recapture his lost cargo with the help of his robotic minions.

In each episode, the show’s heroes respond to challenges with courage, caring, and a sense of humor.

The show’s production team includes Emmy award-winning writer Ian McGee and Nyuk Nyuk managing director Theo Baynton.

Jetpack’s Global Distribution Director - Acquisitions and Development, Gillian Calvert Ridge commented, “A truly original show, with a great concept. Panda and Kiwi have strong values around teamwork, courage, friendship, and comedy, and kids across the world will get behind the heroic antics of Kiki, Hehe, and their friends in a stunning and mysterious location!”
