James Cameron has ponied up his own money to option the rights to Charles Pellegrino's nonfiction book, THE LAST TRAIN FROM HIROSHIMA: THE SURVIVORS LOOK BACK, reports VARIETY.

James Cameron has ponied up his own money to option the rights to Charles Pellegrino's nonfiction book, THE LAST TRAIN FROM HIROSHIMA: THE SURVIVORS LOOK BACK, reports VARIETY. Set to hit stores on Jan. 19th, the book chronicles eyewitness stories of the bombings of Hiroshima for Nagasaki from survivors and U.S. pilots.

Cameron had a chance to visit with Tsutomu Yamaguchi, the only survivor of the two bombings of Hiroshima, on Dec. 22nd. Yamaguchi died on Monday.
