'Kate & Mim-Mim' Headed to Canada

Nerd Corps Entertainment signs a television deal with BBC Kids and Knowledge Network for their original preschool series, Kate & Mim-Mim.

Vancouver, Canada -- Nerd Corps Entertainment announced that their first original preschool series, Kate & Mim-Mim, will be twirling onto TV sets across Canada! The company has secured a television deal with BBC Kids and Knowledge Network for the 52 x 11 minute series, set to begin airing in 2014.

Kate & Mim-Mim is a visually stunning 3D-animated series for girls 2-5, created by award-winning husband and wife duo Scott and Julie Stewart. The series is developed and produced by Nerd Corps Entertainment, with funding from the Shaw Rocket Fund. FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment holds the exclusive worldwide distribution and licensing rights for the property outside of Canada.

Kate & Mim-Mim tells the story of the special friendship between five-year-old spirited Kate and her plush bunny Mim-Mim. Whenever Kate is faced with a real-world problem, she twirls off to her fantasy world, where Mim-Mim comes alive as a larger-than-life playmate! Together they go on adventures, explore new places and meet new friends on the way to discovering a solution to Kate’s real-world puzzle. She always returns to the real-world with thrilling tales of adventure to tell her parents.

“We are very pleased to be working with Knowledge Network and BBC Kids Canada. We are a British Columbia-based company, so it is truly exciting to be collaborating with a BC-based broadcaster in Knowledge Network and a prestigious national network in BBC Kids Canada,” said Ken Faier, El Presidente of Nerd Corps Entertainment.

Michele Paris, Senior Program Manager at Knowledge Network added, “Kate & Mim-Mim reflects the rich inner world of preschoolers everywhere – filled with imaginary friends, high energy adventures and inventive storytelling. We’re proud to work with Vancouver-based Nerd Corps on their first preschool production and bring these charming characters to kids across Canada on BBC Kids and Knowledge Network.”

CBeebies has picked up the show in the UK, also launching in 2014. FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment will be showcasing the property at MIPCOM and Brand Licensing Europe in October 2014.
