European Animation Masterclass (EAM) 2008

This year the International Academy of Media and Arts in Halle (Saale), Germany, is once again offering the European advanced training initiative for the next generation of international animators. The intensive seven-month EAM 2008 course will take students from across the whole of Europe, seeking committed, well motivated, up-and-coming animators, as well as young people just starting their careers who have an aptitude and a passion for animation and want to enhance their experience in this field. Those who take part in the course will have the opportunity to bring their own ideas to the screen, collaborate in an international team and gain experience in the production of animated films. Masterclass students receive intensive tuition and mentoring from a team of internationally experienced and recognized tutors and other experts. Applicants need to have a good working knowledge of 2D and 3D programs and some experience with animation software and compositing, as well as a good command of English. If you are interested, please submit your full application -- including convincing samples of your work (print, DVD, CD), a cover letter, CV and an idea for a short animated film (2D or 3D, approx. 1 minute long) by post to the International Academy of Media and Arts to arrive not later than Jan. 31, 2008.
