Concept art from old Disney, Felix the Cat, and David the Gnome I inherited!

Hi! I'm new to this. I'm a primary school art teacher and just inherited a big box of original concept art from a neighbor who died last month, whose father was an animator from WWII to his death in the nineties.

It is very exciting to look through his decades of work. I wanted to share it with some experts. The best stuff are many original artworks and cels from "David the Gnome" and many commercials in the 60s and 70s. Also some Felix the Cat, but sadly only reproductions and not originals.

Here is a scan of a two page sketch reproduction I found and someone on imgur thinks it is a cut scene from the Disney "Peter Pan" movie with Captain Hook and a deleted character called "mama gull."  It looks like Cap. Hook is in bed and the seagull made her nest on Hook's head.

Anyone recognize? Here's the image: http://imgur.com/gallery/03E3m7I

Will post more soon if that's ok.

You might be able to build a time line with the sketches. If you can find some date marks on one, then pages would go back in time, that are beneath.

That is a good idea and I'll start this weekend. Luckily the original stuff like David the Gnome and the ads are all very carefully labeled but some in bad shape. The reproductions are more disorganized.

I was especially interested in the image I linked above because I thought it is from Disney. I think and others on Imgur agree with me that it looks like an early sketch for Capt. Hook in Disney Peter Pan, maybe from a deleted scene.

Here is a 1940s Hook model sheet that looks to be in the same style: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/94434923407043531/

Looks similar so I think the reproduced sketches I posted are from Disney studios, which amazes me. I'm not sure about the scene though, because I don't remember the action or "mama seagull", but the guy who gets the nest and egg on his head sure looks like Capt. Hook. Someone on Imgur thinks this scene is in the movie maybe.

If you know anything about this, that would be cool. Meanwhile, I will try to organize some of the others sketches. Thank you!
