Universal and Imagine are in talks with Neil Burger to write and direct a remake of BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER's Risky Business Blog.
Burger wrote and directed THE ILLUSIONIST for Yari Film Group.
The original BRIDE was released in 1935, starring Boris Karloff as the monster and Elsa Lanchester as his bride, picking up where 1931's FRANKENSTEIN left off.
Brian Grazer and Sean Daniel will produce with Karen Kehela, David Bernardi and Chris Wade will oversee for Imagine.
Universal is re-working several of its classic movie monsters, including CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON and THE WOLF MAN.
